“Night Song”
“Night Song” is the fourth release of Mannheim Steamroller’s Ambience series. This collection celebrates the beauty of nature through music. Following the success of the previous Ambience series releases, the “Night Song” album is now available in both stereo and immersive Dolby Atmos streaming formats. The sounds and smells of a midwestern summer night are in the air. Recorded over several summers, the ambient soundtrack primarily consists of the sounds of night crickets, gentle breezes, and the occasional calls of owls and other nocturnal birds. The musical content evokes images of starlight and a clear, restful night sky. The musical content gradually gets less dense as it progresses, light fades, and nighttime takes over. The music features a rich range of textures, from simple melodies and Renaissance sounds to lush orchestrations. The musical content ranges from reflective to calming and peaceful. Chip’s unique creative process in making this album is underscored by the influence of natural sonic events captured in the ambient sounds woven together through the compositions of “Night Song”.
