A few years ago, Chip Davis was honored by his hometown of Sylvania, Ohio when they declared September 14 as “Chip Davis Day.” That was a real treat. Particularly because it brought back so many wonderful memories and emotions about the influence Louis Davis, Chip’s father, had on him as a man, a musician and a father. His harpsichord and influence still inspire Chip today.
An even sweeter gift for Chip though, than being honored by his hometown, is getting to make music with his own children. Perhaps that is because nothing makes a father’s day like doing what he loves most with his children. Chip got to experience that when he shared a stage with his daughters during a recent Mannheim Steamroller tour performance.
“All I want for my kids,” Chip says, “is the ability to be passionate toward other human beings, their children, their families, and fully enjoy their lives.” Making beautiful music together doesn’t hurt either. You can watch that performance in the clip on the right.
